Tributyrin is made from the esterification of butyric acid and glycerol. Mainly used in Feed Application. When it enters the intestinal tract of animals as a feed additive, it can be slowly released into butyric acid and glycerol under the action of pancreatic lipase. Tributyrin can repair the small intestinal villi of animals and inhibit the intestinal harmful bacteria. Tributyrin can also promote the absorption and utilization of nutrients. Besides, when tributyrin is used in young animals, it can effectively reduce the diarrhea and weaning stress of young animals after weaning, and increase the survival rate and daily weight gain of young animals.
