Coated sodium butyrate
Sodium butyrate is a sodium salt of butyric acid with a special sour taste of cheese and an alkaline aqueous solution. Sodium butyrate is used as an excipient for GB/T 22141—2018 mixed feed additive acidifier in compound acidifier products of livestock and poultry. At present, there are still some practical problems in the application of sodium butyrate in animal production, such as easy to be dissociated and absorbed in the stomach, difficult to reach the small intestine and large intestine, easy to react with the substances in the feed and affect the use effect. For the above reasons, now more use of coated sodium butyrate, packaging materials generally include water-soluble and fat-soluble two. The specially treated sodium butyrate after coating eliminates its bad smell and is convenient to use in feed. At the same time, the coating treatment makes sodium butyrate reach the post-intestinal tract. Tributyrate is composed of one molecule glycerol and three molecule butyrate, which has a special fat flavor. From the point of view of molecular structure, it can be used as both an oil-in-water emulsifier and a water-in-oil emulsifier. In recent years, glycerol tributyrate as an effective product to improve animal intestinal health has become a hot topic. However, the composition of the products produced by different manufacturers of glycerol tributyrate at home and abroad varies greatly due to the difference in production technology, and the content of glycerol tributyrate in the products varies widely (the author has not published data). Theoretically, the higher the content of glycerol tributyrate, the more effective butyrate can be provided, and the better the effect is. About the digestion of tributyrin acid glyceride in livestock and poultry intestines, the location and quantity of butyric acid released by water interpretation are still relatively few.
