Benzyl benzoate used as carrier in dyeing
The role of the Carrier is to expand the gap of the polymer, just like twisting the twine, so that the gap of the twine is expanded.
Applications of carrier in polyester fiber:
Swelling and spreading between polymer chains, Improves elasticity of expansion. The interstices of the fibers are expanded, so that the alkali NaOH can easily penetrate into the fibers and accelerate the reduction effect. Then the dye can be stuck into the polymer molecular gap at room temperature, which is called room temperature dyeing. In high temperature, the fiber interstices accommodate more dyestuff and therefore less residual dye left, this is so-called deepening agent. Besides, it is also used as dye leveller.
Benzyl benzoate is a commonly used carieer in dyeing. The more high-grade the fabric is, the finer the fiber is. When dyeing, its coloring and uniformity are relatively more difficult. Benzyl benzoate has good plasticity, which is easy to make the fiber swell and pull apart, so that it is easy for the dye to enter the fiber; meanwhile, benzyl benzoate is also an excellent solvent, which makes the dye easy to dissolve and disperse evenly, so that its leveling and shifting performance are very good, and achieve the purpose of uniform dyeing.
